When you see a Cardinal, your loved one is near.

3″x 5″ post card of my “I love you Cardinals” painting. I’ve signed the back of each card, dated them 2025, and numbered the limited release 1-1000.

My grandparents were always there for me, listening, teaching, and loving me. My Pop-pop drove me to my art classes, and took me out for Arby’s roast beef sandwiches afterwards. My Grammy always encouraged my to paint bright and sunny pictures.

After my Pop-pop passed my Grammy told me that whenever she saw red cardinals at her birdfeeder she knew that my Pappy was visiting her.

After my Grammy passed, suddenly tons of Cardinals began visiting my bird feeder too. My yard also had little red birds all over just hopping around and I knew these little birds were there to remind me that my Grammy and Pappy love me.

In honor of the unconditional love they give me, I’ve make cardinal pottery and paintings. Grammy would love the bright red I use to paint them.

My Grandmother wrote a note to my eldest daughter in a birthday card and signed it, “I love you.” I’ve included her message in her handwriting in this painting.

I have this painting tattooed on the inside of my left arm close to my heart where their memory glows forever.
